You may be interested in the LinuxTV project, http://www.linuxtv.org.
Its primary intention is to get DVD on Linux, but if anybody does it, it
may be ported to *BSD as well. There is one guy who writes the
FreeBSD-driver, maybe I'll write one for OpenBSD.
