HOWTOs vs. manpages: SHUT UP!

to paraphrase theo: talk is cheap. put up, or shut up!

there's no guarantee that the project will integrate your work, but that's
the way open development works. sometimes your contributions make a
difference, sometimes they don't.

an example of failure:

and success:

	http://www.monkey.org/openbsd/FUQ/
	http://www.monkey.org/openbsd-mobile/
	http://www.monkey.org/openbsd/tshirts.html
	http://www.monkey.org/~nemickol/openbsd.html
	http://www.badgebrigade.com/gallery/bb0013.html
	http://www.monkey.org/~dugsong/ports.html

just take the initiative to do something. even if it isn't accepted by the
OpenBSD project officially, it may still be of value to the rest of the
community. HOWTOs are a fine idea, if they're done well.

alex@crawfish.suba.com has the right idea. join
