   Perhaps it would make sense to spawn a list for less experienced
groups, and those of who are willing to lurk there and help can do so.
This can be a less disruptive way of helping the neophytes.  Yes, I
know... RTFM, but much of the M is obscure to those just starting into
this realm, and I think it would be good to have a forum where they can
pose seemingly stupid questions without shame.

Moving from release to current source code is not for the uninitiated.

Install a snapshot instead, or read the FAQ most carefully.  Most of
the developers in the group are getting tired of holding the hands of
people who (like you) have missed an obvious step somewhere along the
