Unable to boot OpenBSD on Compaq 5150
Hi,
I just got my OpenBSD 2.4 CD's, and spent the weekend trying to install it on
a Compaq 5150 I just bought (AMD K6-2 @350, 8GB IDE, 128MB, etc.). It seems to
install correctly (I am creating a single root partition "a" plus the swap
partition "b" for now), and even seems to install the boot block. However,
when I reboot the machine, it goes automatically into the Windows 98 boot
(which is also installed on a different partition). I have tried using os-bs,
and it sets up the menu, but when I select the OpenBSD partition, it gives me
"no operating system". The W98 part boots ok with os-bs too.
Is there something obvious I am missing? I know the above is not very clear in
respect to the technical details, but I am not at home right now and don't
remember all the disk settings correctly. I just wanted to through this into
the list to see if there is something obvious I should be looking at. If I
remember correctly, pfdisk sees the disk geometry as 972 cyls, 240 heads, 63
sectors.
Thank you very much for any help,
