Sure.  I've tried to do that.  Now maybe I'm not qualified, and am not a
good enough coder to actually get something working.  I had my changes
hanging the kernel.  Talking to justin gibbs (of the freebsd driver), he
basically said "Yup, I know that problem.  What you really need, is the docs
to show you how the register bits have changed."  I've even looked at
"porting" the freebsd stuff, but that ain't easy.  At least for me...
