Adaptec AIC-7880 SCSI Adapter

I have recently been attempting to install OpenBSD on an IBM PC Server 325
which uses an Adaptec AIC-7880 SCSI Adapter. Although it seems that the OS
detects and uses the adapter correctly during installation, the machine
hangs after printing "Using Drive: 0 Partition: 3" on reboot. However, if
I boot from a floppy and mount sd0a, the contents of the drive appear to be
fine.

I have tried this with both version 2.3 (on CD) and a downloaded copy of
version 2.4. The machine previously had Linux v4.? running on it. The SCSI
settings have not changed from the previous installation so the boot
sequence is fine.

I did note that the Adaptec 78x adapters were not listed on the CD insert as
being supported. Is this the crux of my problem?
