cucipop (APOP authentication problem)

Ok, I don't want to sound like I am nagging, but it seems I have some
problems with APOP authenticaton.

The man pages don't say anything specific about the setup; but when I try
to POP mail using Eudora (with APOP switched on), cucipop complains about
the user/digest pair -- saying something like "check case" or somesuch.

Has anyone got cucipop and APOP authentication working?

(I have switched off USER and PASS authentication.)
