Problems with a duplicate IP address
Hi everybody!
I'm running OBSD 2.4 in a Internet Gateway
with a cablemodem. Recently we're having problems with another machine in the
cablemodem's net wiht the same IP as our's, causing the service interruption,
forcing me to reconfigure the network interface (it's the only thing that I've
found to do. besides rebooting). I'm not quit sure if this is a problem with the
IP asigning of the CableModem Company or if this is an intentional attack.
The question is if there is something that I could do to avoid
this, automatically.....
the warning message that I get at the console it's as
follows:
Dec 9 09:56:19 igate /bsd: duplicate IP address 24.232.x.x
sent from ethernet address 00:c0:df:c3:56:12
Thanks...& greetings from the far south...
