Mylex 958 problems w/2.3

I am having trouble getting OpenBSD 2.3 to recognize my SCSI disk/adapter.

Configuration:
Motherboard: KR632 Pentium II AGP (Intel 440LX AGPset)
SCSI Adapter: Mylex (Buslogic) 958 pci ultra-wide
Disk: Seagate ST32155W
CDROM: ATAPI

Scenario:
Using the CDROM provided from OpenBSD to boot, I get the messages appended
below.  It looks like it finds some sort of hard drive in the initial boot
sequence, because it lists "hd0*". But when I run the install script, it
is unable to find a hard disk to install to. Do I need a special boot floppy
to get OpenBSD to work with the Mylex controller?  FWIW, i was able to load
linux on this system, so the disk/controller is functional, at least.

Any help would be appreciated,
