apm this and that

Hello,

I've running 2.3 on my notebook, TI Extensa 390, with the GENERIC kernel
and I have a few questions regarding apm and pcmcia support. When I
reboot my machine I got this:

apm at bios0 function 0x15 not configured

What it means? If I try to run the apm daemon I got a similar error:

apmd: cannot open device file `/dev/apmctl': Device not configured

I haven't find any kind of info about this (maybe is in the missing
apm(4) manpage?).

For the pcmcia part I got this:

vendor "Texas Instruments", unknown product 0xac16 (class bridge,
subclass CardBus, rev 0x02) at pci0 dev 5 function 0 not configured

Again, what it means? What should I see if a pcmcia controller is
detected in my notebook?

There are a couple of missing files related to the pcmcia documentation:

   config_slot(8), pcmcia(4)

And the manpage for pcmciad isn't clear enough for me.
What should I have to put in /etc/pcmciad.conf? Just the name of device
or the complete path for it?
   Best regards,

   Federico Schwindt.-
