I tried this and it seems to work.  I ran a program that generates 3
million random numbers with a Gaussian distribution.  I checked the
results with g770.5.23 on an alpha running OSF and g770.5.21 on an ultrix 4.4
machine.  Of course, this only shows that the particular program I ran
produces the same output, but I tend to believe that the set up works.
