It claims to answer the virtual terminals question, but it doesn't.  It
does, however, answer the "do you need to boot into macos" question:
yes, in order to run the booter.  That's why power macs are so nice, you
don't ever have to have macos on them to boot up into...place your
favorite unix-like system here..., plus they are very fast machines.
