One thing I don't remember seeing is a statement from you as to
which bios you are using. I'm using a12. I would encourage you
to upgrade to a12 (or the latest) if your computer is running with a lower
numbered bios. You can download from the Dell site a bootable
program to reflash your bios.

I still recommend getting the release cdrom to install from. I
have to go that way because I have only dialup, but I would
use the cdroms first even if I had Comcast cable.
