I'll have to second this, at work we've been told by our HP rep (that has
been with us since it was Digital and we first started buying Alphas) that
the plan is to have all Alpha customers on Itanium in around 3 years, and
sooner if they can. 

As for where you work, I'll venture a U.S. National Lab like LANL or
Sandia.
