Did I say different? How does keeping the information simple and straight 
forward somehone imply a lack of respect?? There is no need to make the 
process more complicated than it should be. For most projects, the 
immediate contact is savvy enough to understand the issues, and has already 
had enough input to the decision process.

There's no reasn to complicate matters by waving a red flag in front of the 
raging beancounters 'upstairs'. Seldom is a single person involved in the 
decision process - keep it simple, let the PHBs see the cost/value decision 
without clutter. Don't give them any excuses to hang a rejection on a buzzword.
