ntp problems

Hello,

NTP has stopped working and I am not sure what's causing it. It is as if the
time is not being updated as it used to. The other PCs on the LAN complain
that my NTP server is not syncronized. My clock is about an hour slower per
day than it should be. My ntp.drift file is being updated hourly but the
value doesn't change from the value that I loaded into it. When I noticed
the problem the driftfile had the value of 500.000 I have since set it to
1.000, but it hasn't moved.

I replaced the clock battery but that has done nothing. I have also tried
debugging with ntpq but I can only see that my clock is out of sync with the
time servers.

I noticed the problem after installing nagios, but I'm not sure if it's
related. Does anyone know some things I cantry next to solve this problem?
