Oh, I thought you must have missed it 'cause if you follow the right
links it leads you to an SDK for Linux but maybe that's not what you
want ?  Catch is, even if you reverse engineered the other end from
the source code, it may not be legal given the legal mumbo jumbo for
the UPnP forum that allows for "reasonable" licence fees to apply.

In short, it appears to be SOAP (XML over HTML), using HTTP over UDP
for discovery (i.e. broadcasting.)
