Openbsd boot on Sparc fails

Hi,

I have recently bought a secondhand Sun Sparcstation 4. Before it
takes on some server duties, I'd like to test a couple of operating
systems on this machine.

I don't have a floppy or cdrom player for the Sparc. What I did was
to install a RARP and TFTP server on my linux box to do a netboot.
After long hours I managed to boot the Sparc this way. Openbsd as
well as Netbsd won't start after receiving the boot image. I get a
message error that the software is intended for a different cpu type
or something like that.

In the case of openbsd I used bsd.rd as found on a ftp-mirror in the
3.1/sparc section.

Is this supposed to work? I managed to get Debian Linux for Sparc to
boot this way. I get a Linux startup screen and then enter the
installation system. From that point on I haven't managed to access
the network, but at least I have a functioning os to work with.

Given that Debian works this way, I was hoping to get either of the
bsds to boot on the system. Should the Openbsd install work like
this?
