It makes me want to embrace something alright, a shiny black object with
"Beretta 96FS" and ".40cal S&W" on the side...  :)

I installed XP last night since I had to reformat anyway.  Once you spend
some time getting rid of all of the fluffy crap, the interface isn't so
bad.  I'm just getting all of my drivers put in (the ones XP ships with
work enough to use them, but that's about it), but so far I haven't seen
the usual M$ telltale signs.  Give it a couple days though.  Maybe it's
just Windows' April Fools joke on me - "you think I work now...  ha!" :)
