no, it's not. it seems most definitely be either an ssh or a cvs
problem (i'm experiencing the very same, with a cvs (and the ssh,
obviously) server running on a solaris and the client on a linux). i
don't, as of yet, know what causes it, though (strange is, i can shell
in to the remote machine fine, it's just ssh used for CVS_RSH that
fails).
