One  would, of  course,  want to  make an  archival  copy just  in
case. On most systems,  you shouldn't have trouble  fitting all of
/etc (as a tarball if necessary) onto a floppy. On most firewalls,
/etc is all you should need to back up.

Whether  you can  trust a  floppy  to not  spoil is  a matter  for
another diiscussion....
