Yes, there are. I have one, in fact. It's a smallish circuit board
with an IDE connector and a CF socket. This particular model doesn't
support hot-plug, but it's quite nice if you're looking for some
solid-state storage with a simple interface.

I haven't bothered to see if I can make a PC boot off it yet.

In theory the manufacturer could put a PCMCIA-ATA chip and an ATA-CF
adapter together to make a PCMCIA-CF adapter, but I believe that this is
not what is commonly sold as a PCMCIA-CF adapter. Not having one of
these, I can't check.
