Problem upgrading to 2.9

While upgrading from 2.8 to 2.9 via the OBSD 2.9 cd...

The base29 set failed to install properly. I got a message that it was 
unable to delete a directory because it was not empty. Something with 
"perl" in the pathname; it began with './usr'

Re-tried installing base29.tgz 3 times with same result. At the 
conclusion of the install, I got no prompt. Re-booted using the reset 
button, and the system is operational, but... ???

Anyone run into this, or know how to repair it?
