I'd prefer to use the usual "wow" for OpenBSD.
I just can't believe that 3.0 will not install on two different motherboards
and assorted hardware capable of running just about every other free Unix I can
lay my hands on.
Using 2.9, I am able to boot from the CD and proceed through the installation
process normally, however the 3.0 CD doesn't boot (it reboots the computer in
an endless loop) with an Adaptec 2940 SCSI card present. I made a boot disk
using floppyb3.fs and the installation of 3.0 is able to proceed. I use the
entire IDE HD for 3.0, and then try to reboot from the HD...
... 3.0 hangs during the boot process at "drive blah 0 partition 3 blah".
I re-read the FAQ, following section 14.6, and try to install the Booteasy
bootloader, which doesn't work. It boots from the hard disk, and then
drops to the debugger (I don't comprehend this gobblydegeek).
I give up and try a different motherboard. Same problem. After installation,
it gets as far as the debugger. I try a different hard disk but no joy.
I suppose I'd better find a different system and try an installation with
the SCSI card.
