Intel Newbie questions...
After many years of using Unix and specifically OBsd on Sun machines,
I tried installing OBsd on intel hardware. The install went fine, with
minimal problems, but I still am unable to boot to the OpenBSD disk. My
wife needs to have Windows ME on the machine, which is on an IDE
drive. I installed an adaptec SCSI card and SCSI drive, and it was my
intention to simply use that for obsd. I've spent several hours
perusing the faq and mailing list archives, but all the messages seem
to be about booting from different partitions on the same drive. I've
tried some of the solutions: booteasy exits with an error code 3, that
says it can't change the boot block, and OS-BS135 requires a dos
floppy that Windows ME won't make. I'd be happy to put the BSD startup
disk in the floppy and type a command to the boot loader there to get
things rolling, but I'm not sure what to type.
Anyway, as you can see, I'm completely ignorant of windows affairs and
I apologize for that, but I would love to try out OBSD on this new
hardware, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be
most appreciative.
Thanks in advance,
Scott
