2.9 kernel panic on ide disk access

When I extracted all sources into /usr/src the system stopped with error
messages like losing interrupts, disk not responding. I can reproduce
the problem. Sorry I don't have the exact details. The same system runs
well with 2.8. Anyone with this kind of problem? Thanks.
