Hello list,
I have just upgraded from 2.7 to 2.8 but I have a problem. I need to do a
MAKEDEV ALL to make my /dev directory but I can't seem to do it. I d/loaded
etc28.tgz separately and decompressed it. I tried to run the MAKEDEV.local
inside the decompressed /dev directory but nothing happened - it said
MAKEDEV command not found (sorry if I am obviously doing something wrong).
Then I read the MAKEDEV man page. It said to run the shell script in the
/dev directory - I don't have a /dev directory now. I would mount my backup
hard drive but I can't cause I need /dev/wd1 ! I've had a look in the
mailing list archives and the faq and it seems what I need is a copy of the
MAKEDEV script. I had a look on the ftp site and in the src files but
perhaps someone could point me in the right direction.
If I am completely missing the point please tell me.
Cheers
John Bruce
