Cable Modem Locking

Hello, I am having a problem that I can not figure out.
I have my cable modem hooked up to my OpenBSD box, it is configured using
DHCP on ep0, I also have my local network connected to ep1 and configured
with an internal address. Now when I use the Internet it will work
great. After a random amount of time my connection just like locks. That
is probably the best word to describe it. When I try to ping or using any
network application, it just sits there, there is activity on the modem,
but it says nothing. I have changed the leasetime in /etc/dhclient.conf to
1800 and then to 60 with no results. Sometimes it will stay online for a
few hours, sometimes no more than 5 minutes. When I have my cable modem
hooked up to my Windows box, I don't get this problem. The same thing also
happens when using a static IP. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
