Question about Users

Hi all,

I just have a small question about user groups. I had a user named shado,
and the user was a member of the wheel group. I wanted to delete the user
and start again (I'm just playing with this OS at the moment, trying to
learn about it), so I logged in as root, and ran userdel -r shado.

This ran, and the user was removed. Then I went useradd, and added a new
user, named shado, with the same UID. The thing was, when I got to the bit
about groups, and tried adding the user to the wheel group, it told me the
user was already a member of the wheel group. When it printed out all the
info about the user for me to accept, the wheel group was not on the list of
groups it was a member of, and then I logged in as the user and it was a
member of the wheel (able to su to root).

Did I miss something in removing this user? Was I meant to use a more
comprehensive tool to completely remove all entries? I know in this case it
doesn't really matter, but I would have thought there are times when it
might.
