Hi
ts me
again. I had another question/situation for you. the other day i installed the
latest OpenBSD 2.8 on my server. I did a ftp install @ from a cybercafe here in
town(arizona (tempe to be exact)) thx to some friends there. anywas i just did
the base install set all the parameters and when it was finished i just shut it
off (obeying all the messeges) to get out of their hair so nobody would get in
trouble. anywas i got home later that night and started playing with it booted
up ok logind as root and stated searching for my faviorte shell "Bash" to make
it my default shell (for usr root). I then relized that it was not installed and
(brainfart) realized that i had the 2.7 install cd's handy. so i mounted the cd
in /mnt and proceded to do a
$pkg_add Bash2.3.4 (whatever
version). It installed without any errors then i did a
$chsh and changed my
default shell to /usr/local/bin/bash (just like normal). I also edited the
/etc/shells file and added /usr/local/bin/bash there
also..
(this is where the problem
starts)
I then loged out to relogin
with the new bash shell. After typing in the correct login and password it gave
me this.....
/usr/libexec/ld.so: -Bash:
libtermcap.so.7.1: No Such File or Directory.
then it spits back a login
prompt...
and willnot let me login.... at all
and i failed to make another user.
do you have any suggestions on how i
can get logedin as root???? and take control of my system again.. Without
having to reinstall (I currentley don't have broadband here and i don't want to
reask the local cyber cafe if i could come back again.. (thede say no)
pls respond promptley im locked out
of my own server..
Thx Thxix
p.s. if you answered my e-mail
yesterday i tryed looking at the dmesg for sd* and saw nothing there
wounder if m using the wrong kernel or do i have to recompile it?
assuming i can get re loginedin....
thx
