Make sure your kernel is compiled with 'option XFS' in it, enable AFS
in /etc/rc.conf, and enter your local AFS cell in /etc/afs/ThisCell
(and possibly add the db servers in /etc/afs/CellServDB if they're not
already there).
Then do a reboot.
