Mailserver questions

Ok I've just setup my machine with a fresh install of 2.7 and all the stuff
I wanted from the ports tree. I haven't touched the configs for sendmail
and I haven't installed POP. The hostname of the bsd machine is
borrowedtime. Its domain is set to punkbitch.net. punkbitch.net is a
domain registered to me.

I can send and receive emails locally between root and a test account I set
up on the machine. I can also send email from the machine itself to
ghnelson@uiuc.edu. I receive the emails fine but when I reply from the
uiuc.edu account, I get relaying denied from my personal domain that I'm
using. That's fine and that's another problem that will be solved hopefully
once the dns info updates for my domain with my new MXE record go through.
I think the record is updated every 12 hours.

Anyways, the MXE record is supposed to send email that is sent to
username@borrowedtime.punkbitch.net to the ip of my bsd machine as I
understand it. My question is that once that is setup correctly in the dns
record, will I be able to recieve emails that are sent to me at
username@borrowedtime.punkbitch.net given the virgin setup of the machine?
Or are there more settings that I have to change?

Thanks!

George Nelson
