GENERIC 3.6 is configuring the Qlogic ISP2300, where GENERIC 3.5
did not. With 3.5, option ISP_COMPILE_FW=1 was required in order
to use the fibrechannel card.
Adding option ISP_COMPILE_FW=1 to GENERIC 3.6 (creating ISP) and
GENERIC.MP 3.6 (creating ISP.MP) result in the same problem. ISP
works, ISP.MP does not. trace and ps from ISP.MP attempt:

Disabling AMI BIOS (08.00.08 IABDX028) "Rom Keep" settings for
the slot in which the Qlogic ISP2300 resides makes the ISP2300
undetectable. The system boots fine, but of course can't then
mount the array.
