System crashed when pasting a long text file
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
System : OpenBSD 2.9
Architecture: OpenBSD.i386
Machine : i386
Synopsis: System crashed when pasting a long text file
Severity: critical
Priority: medium
Category: Apache 1.3.20
Description:
I was testing apache 1.3.20 on this server when I tried to
insert
a long line of html codes to it's index.html file and the
machine crashed.
BTW, i am telnetting to the server which is located on the
same building.
I am no expert on debugging but I could regenerate the
problem again.
How-To-Repeat:
It's rather long so i have posted it at
http://202.188.124.47/wecomeinpeace.txt
It's the code which crashed the server . Basically what I did
was, I opened up a telnet session
to the server above and I modified the index.html.en file
inserting the code above in between
the codes and the server crashed/hang in between it.
I have given OpenBSD team a login id and root password so
that you can know what happened.
