ffs-related (?) panic

Moo

My box panics when Im doing a lot of disk operation on a certain hd. I agree that its probably hardware-related (ie the disk is slowly breaking down) but it still
generates a panic in ffs_clusteralloc and the disk is actually working fine when the box is up. I've had these panics for at least 3-4 times and Im pretty sure it
always happens when Im copying files, compressing/uncompressing files, etc.. and more specifically writing files. And thats not only because ffs_clusteralloc
gives me that hint but from what I remember I've been doing when it has panicked as well. It does not seem to happen when deleting files, only when writing to
files. I dont know if its related to new or existing files though. There's not much to say about the hardware, its an old box with old drives and old memory. I've
included dmesg and gdb dumps as well (using gdb, crashdump and a kernel with full symbol tables as explained in crash(8)).
If you have any questions please come back to me, I wont donate my box since its my primary mailserver :-) but Im happy to run anything you want me to run. I
have some minor programming experience if it will help.

Thanks for a fantastic operating system!!!
