You are correct, this is a problem with the amount of RAM (At least for me when
I had this problem sticking more RAM in fixed it)

I'm an amature computer user but I *think* the problem is that when you start
downloading the large files they are being put in RAM and they come in a little
too fast so your RAM fills up before OpenBSD can write it out to the hard drive
and thats when it crashes.
