I solved it thanks, but your right it was the firmware version.
For what its worth the version i'm now using is at
http://hostap.epitest.fi/hostap/2002-08/1540.html
its actualy for a zoomair but works for my dwl-650 (and thus presumeable
most prism2.5 cards ?)
