You need to use portupgrade to keep ports and packages up-to-date.  The
ports system, as it stands, does not have this functionality.  Install
sysutils/portupgrade, read the docs, then run portupgrade -ra before you
add any new ports.  That will help you avoid problems such as this in
the future.
